Service Business Reviews

This is a review of the various service businesses I have done business with. Most of these businesses are in Southern Oregon from Ashland to Grants Pass. However there will be a few other businesses not in this general area. The reason for this is that I  actually get out of the area I  live in and travel a bit. Not often, but often enough to warrant including these businesses here.

FOCUS 1 INSURANCE
So here is my first review of a local company called Focus 1 Insurance.  I know this will not come as great news to you.  They're an insurance company.  I can hear you groaning. Don't stop reading just yet.  Let me explain why I think this company is different and why I think you should consider getting your insurance through them.

One of the coolest things I like about this company is the fact that they are independent insurance agents.  They are able to sell insurance from quite a few different insurance companies.  They have those other "big" and well know insurance companies beat, hands down.  They find the right insurance at the right price by being able to shop around. . The problem with those other big companies is that you get what you get.  What is really sad is when you don't fit into their perfect little box you end up paying way to much for your insurance. 

Eli Clark is my insurance agent there. I have met every single one of the other agents and I would recommend them all.  They really do care about their clients and are ready to fight for you when you need them. This is why their slogan is “Where The Focus Is On You”.

There is no doubt that these guys get a 5 star rating from me.  They care and have respect for their clients. Plus they help them save money. Plus they help them get the "right" coverage.. I almost forgot to mention that they are actively involved in the community too.  If you currently have an insurance need or you have not reviewed you insurance policies in over a year you should give Focus 1 Insurance a call.  For Medford or Ashland Insurance give the guys a call. You will be glad you did.

Advanced Transmissions
I am proud to be reviewing and recommending Advanced Transmissions. . They are a small family owned transmission repair shop.  Advanced Transmissions is not what you typically think of when you think small mechanic shop.  You instantly feel you are in the right place when you talk to any of the techs and see how their shop is ran and how clean it is. 

I had to really finesse my stick shift into 3rd gear. Other people could not even get it into third gear. This is how I ended up doing business with Advanced. . Not only do I know nothing about repairing a vehicle but I know little about them in general.  I thought this repair would cost me hundreds, or worse, thousands of dollars.  But it need to be fixed and I had heard really good things about them.

About two hours later they gave me a call telling that it was ready and that I could pick it up or they could come get me. I asked what my bill was going to be.  Your total comes to $60.  I thought they were joking when they gave me the total. They weren't. Turns out it was just a simple clip in my stick shift that had broken. They could have dinged me the several hundred dollars I was expecting and I would have never know then difference.  Luckily they did not. 

They work on all models and makes of cars with automatic, manual and hybrid transmissions. In addition they work with clutches, differentials and also other components of the vehicle that happen to be in direct correlation to the transmission. I am unable to truly advise you of due to the fact I am not a car man.

I like and highly recommend Advanced because they are ethical, fair, honest and all about creating a customer for life.  These guys are passionate about what they do. I am not doing these guys any justice when I say they are knowledgeable at what they do.  Plus, for them. it is all about creating that life long relationship with their customers and their vehicles.  These people live up to their slogan of “You Can Trust Us To Flush Your Transmission Not Your Wallet”.
